Successful implant therapy requires far more than technical proficiency; it depends on meticulous diagnostic data collection, careful organization of information, and thoughtful analysis to support sound clinical decision-making that synthesizes medical and dental histories, clinical examinations, radiographic and 3D imaging, prosthetic requirements, anatomical limitations, and patient-centered considerations. This book seeks to help by providing clinicians with a structured, systematic approach to diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, and procedural execution. Emphasizing concise, procedure-oriented frameworks in the forms of checklists and guidelines, it offers a focused review of the critical elements required for proper case assessment, planning, and execution, reinforcing best practices and enabling clinicians to better navigate the inherent complexity of oral implantology and ultimately deliver safer, more predictable, and higher-quality outcomes for their patients. Consent forms and postoperative instructions are included for use in daily practice.

In this fully revised and updated edition of his bestselling book, Dr Arun Garg delineates how full-arch implant rehabilitation (FAIR) can transform the lives of patients with complete edentulism or hopeless teeth. With the FAIR protocol, axial implants in the anterior are combined with tilted implants in the posterior to support a full-arch prosthesis; this FAIR prosthesis is immediate, fixed, esthetic, and highly functional, and it can frequently be loaded without bone grafting. The book describes the rationale behind the FAIR protocol, details the technique step by step along with its modifications, and demonstrates its use in various patient scenarios with comprehensive clinical case presentations. This new edition boasts several new chapters on digital dentistry and how to incorporate these tools in the workflow, including the role of CBCT, photogrammetry, and facial scanning, as well as additional chapters focusing on patient-perceived barriers to treatment, prosthetic protocols, and marketing your full-arch practice.

Decision Making at the Crossroads between Periodontology and Implant Dentistry

Information

With their book Plastic-Esthetic Periodontal and Implant Surgery – A Microsurgical Approach, the two nationally and internationally renowned authors, Dr. Otto Zuhr and Prof. Dr. Marc Hürzeler, have already written one of the most important works on oral surgery. They now present their patient-oriented treatment approach for implantology and periodontal surgery in their new book “Decision Making at the Crossroads between Periodontology and Implant Dentistry – A Call for Personalized Oral Medicine”.

Due to extensive current scientific evidence available in dental medicine, it is no longer appropriate for dentists to be for or against preserving severely damaged teeth or to be for or against implants. The time has come to break away from dogma and combine both worlds – tooth preservation and implant therapy – into a coherent approach for the benefit of patients.

In this groundbreaking three-volume compendium, the authors demonstrate, among other things, how to achieve healthy and stable gingival and peri-implant soft tissue, considering the latest evidence and the individual risk profiles and needs of patients.

The work contains a wealth of information, providing all the necessary biologic and technical principles (Volume 1) as well as the surgical techniques (Volumes 2 and 3) required for practitioners in the fields of implantology, periodontology, and oral surgery. The in-depth work comprises a user-friendly format, including numerous detailed case studies with step-by-step procedures and extensive lists of materials. It is brilliantly illustrated with top-quality photographs and radiographs as well as other illustrative material, and is supplemented by a number of videos. This outstanding work is without doubt a real breakthrough and should be included in every dental library!

Building Better Bone: A Comprehensive Guide to GBR techniques

Information

The idea for this book was conceived at a critical time for humanity, during the lockdown following the Covid 19 pandemic. An international group of fellow clinicians set out to create a book to analyze all aspects of a common problem in implant dentistry: the loss of one or more teeth, and the subsequent physiologic resorption of both hard and soft tissue. Defects resulting from tooth loss can be treated in several different ways, with similar but different surgical techniques, materials, and methods. GBR is an approach that has been around for over 30 years, during which time we have learnt its pros and cons. Understanding how to select the optimal GBR technique ensures reduced risks for patients and clinicians alike. This book is intended to be a “recipe manual” for how to help build better bone, and includes varied protocols representing the state of the art in modern dentistry, without commercial bias. The book is also enriched by 14 videos that provide detailed explanations of the techniques adopted, and each chapter illustrates expert recommendations for optimizing the techniques presented.
